Property Development
Adv Louis Barnard
Louis brings significant property development and commercial business experience to the team. After completing his LLB law degree at Stellenbosch University, he showed a keen interest in property development and has completed several large-scale projects. Louis’ focus includes large-scale, purpose built student accommodation developments (1000+ beds per development), commercial housing and industrial projects. His passion for bringing the right stakeholders together for collective success, supported by his operational savvy, makes him a valuable team member.

Louise Oertel
Through strong governance and alignment of all stakeholders, Louise has the ability to create high performing environments that have a positive impact on the communities in which they operate. She brings extensive experience and knowledge of the property development, investment holding and advisory sectors combined with her financial acumen and professional qualifications as a Chartered Accountant and member of SAICA.

Adv Hildegard Barnard-Bender
Hildegard contributes a keen commercial, financial, legal and governance perspective to any business environment she enters. She is a highly motivated and articulate professional having operated in the M&A and Corporate Advisory space with experience in the entrepreneurial and corporate sectors. She further serves as a non-executive director on independent company boards and is an admitted Advocate of the High Court of South Africa.

Ralph Rabie
Ralph is a Chartered Accountant CA (SA) with 25 years of property development experience ranging from project management, development-related strategic deal-making, property development and Financial Director roles. He further spent several years as Senior Manager at Standard Bank in the Affordable Housing Development Division.
Chief Operations Officer
Stephen Malgas
Stephen’s background and experience in project management and implementation, combined with his understanding of value chains and people, allows him to contribute a keen sense of lateral thinking and stakeholder management.

Soheni Khadua
With significant experience in office administration, Sue brings structure and spirit to our offices. Her stakeholder management skills are a valuable attribute to our team.
Advisor
Marvin Nair
Marvin is a CFA Charterholder and Royal Chartered Surveyor MRICS and also a member of the Investment Analyst Society. He has spent a significant term in the banking and financial service sector with a focus on real estate investments and projects. His keen business acumen made him instrumental in the expansion of First Rand’s directly held real estate portfolio, later leading to him joining Standard Bank’s growing real estate team, and most recently the RMB Real Estate Investment Banking Team followed by significant experience in the independent advisory space.
